(Adnkronos) – A new majority meeting will be held today, Tuesday, October 27, at lunchtime, to discuss the budget. Parliamentary sources report that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has summoned her allies, Forza Italia, the League, and Noi Moderati, to review the situation in light of yesterday's summit at Palazzo Chigi and ahead of tomorrow's Council of Ministers meeting on the budget law.
The budget bill does not include any personal income tax cuts for incomes over €50, at least for now. This was learned from center-right parliamentary sources.
According to reliable sources, the majority is reportedly working on addressing the issue of pension flexibility. The agreement currently being discussed would include a dedicated fund of just under €1 billion (the exact amount has not yet been determined), included in the budget, which would therefore be limited to allocating the resources available for 2027.
Subsequently, the measure would be implemented through a provision in January, after the budget session closed, and implemented at the operational level.
The budget is moving toward a package of tax measures for young people. Among the confirmed options are an expanded no-tax zone for those under 25, tax exemptions for young people starting their first jobs, and a 5% flat tax for new hires under 35.
Among the measures that could be included in the budget's framework is a card for seniors to obtain reimbursement for medical expenses not covered by the national health system, starting with dental care.
