Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – Following the passage of the Azores High in recent days, which marked the end of the sultry heat that characterized the summer of 2026, Italy continues to experience mild temperatures, or a "September climate," as experts have defined it. This is also confirmed by the heatwave bulletin published by the Ministry of Health.
Indeed, all of Italy is in the green zone at least until tomorrow, Thursday, September 17: all 27 cities monitored by the Ministry are at a zero-alert level for health. The red and orange warnings that characterized the past few months during the African heat now seem like a distant memory.
As experts at IlMeteo.it explain, a storm front will arrive from the Atlantic today, bringing rain first to the Alps and then to central and northern regions in the next few hours.
Showers are also expected in the South on Friday. However, the situation could change further as early as Sunday, September 20th, as high pressure will begin to resurface over Italy, and next week even an anticyclone will return.
