Train derails in Pakistan, killing at least four.

Multan (India), October 13 (askanews) – At least four people have died and over a dozen were injured in a train derailment near Multan, in the southern Pakistani province of Punjab. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed concern over the derailment and have ordered an investigation. Accidents and derailments are frequent on Pakistan's antiquated railway system, which has nearly 7.500 kilometers of track and carries over 80 million passengers annually.

The network, dating back to colonial times, still retains tracks, junctions and bridges that are over 150 years old, although it is undergoing a modernization process as part of the vast China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
