Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the release of Stephen Hubbard, an American citizen detained in Russia, where he had been sentenced to six years in prison on charges of fighting as a mercenary alongside Ukrainians. The RIA Novosti news agency reported that Hubbard is already at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport.
According to the Tass news agency, US envoy Steve Witkoff thanked Putin for the release.
