(Adnkronos) – A water bomb hit Florence on Thursday, September 17 (over 45 millimeters in one hour). Water infiltrated the Uffizi Gallery, under the skylight of the room housing seven 17th-century paintings, including Caravaggio's Bacchus. 

The leak shattered the outer glass of the Bacco's protective display case.

Following the necessary checks, no damage was found to any of the works. It will be open as usual starting tomorrow morning.
