Milan, September 18 (Adnkronos) – “The theme of the 2025 conference of the general directors of Italian universities – Codau – concerns university co-opetition, or the strategy by which universities, while competing to attract human, financial, and instrumental resources, commit to collaborating together in certain thematic areas of strategic importance, such as research.
We learned this from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan; from collaboration between universities, but also with the private sector; from innovative teaching projects for students; from infrastructure, both physical and digital, from logistics, and in many other contexts.
Codau President Alberto Scuttari made this statement at the 2025 edition of Codau, the XNUMXnd annual conference of the General Directors of University Administrations.
"In this period, it's important to learn to collaborate because the demographic trend is negative and because, after the significant boost from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, we're moving toward a more normal era, with universities whose facilities were created within the framework of the Plan and are therefore also more expensive. Given all these effects, we can't rely solely on increased public funding; it's important to pool our energies to sustainably address the future, not only in terms of maintenance, but also in terms of improvement, especially to promote equitable access to university education for young people," he concludes.
