Assago, October 21 (askanews) – Getec is strengthening its presence in Italy and entering the Iberian Peninsula for the first time. One of Europe's leading companies in decarbonized energy and infrastructure solutions has completed the acquisition of Cogenio, a company active in energy efficiency and distributed generation. Giovanni Pontrelli, President of GETEC Italy, said:

Given that Italy, over the last five years, has invested in the industrial market exclusively through organic growth, we were looking for an opportunity like this, we strongly desired it, and so we finally have the 30 major Cogenio plants in our portfolio.
The transaction also has a strategic role at the group level, as it allows us to enter the Iberian Peninsula with a significant presence. The operation aims to combine Cogenio's technological and engineering expertise with GETEC's ability to develop, finance, and manage complex energy infrastructures in various energy-intensive sectors. This integration brings more than 30 industrial plants to Italy, and a network of over 200 projects related to distributed energy systems and decarbonization in Spain, along with a consolidated position in the industrial photovoltaic market.
