Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The message coming from the eighth edition of the National Festival of Civil Economy, returning to Florence from October 1 to 4, 2026, is that "there is an economy different from the one we perceive every day, which thinks in financial terms. We seek to explain how the EUconomy, that is, the good economy, is one that truly develops the well-being of all and generates new value, not simply managing what already exists."
Thus, with Adnkronos/Labitalia, Augusto Dell'Erba, president of Federcasse, presents the event promoted and organized by Federcasse-Bcc, Confcooperative, and NeXt Economia, in collaboration with MUSe Firenze and Sec, this year titled "EUconomia. The Economy That Does Good. The Sound of the Growing Forest."
The Festival will also be an opportunity to showcase the diverse economies that populate the regions, as Dell'Erba explains: "Both as a bank and as a cooperative movement in general, we support many of these activities that empower regions to act autonomously and not wait for others to do something.
We will present, as we do every year at the festival, these initiatives, which represent concrete and effective ways to develop the local economy, and therefore it is also an opportunity for them to showcase and explain what they do. These initiatives are increasingly widespread and effective,” he concludes.
And going into the specifics of the cooperative credit activity, Dell'Erba underlines that "we have been explaining for some time, ever since the new European legislation was established, and it's been several years now, how the Italian system was not adequately recognized by European legislation.
This new legislative session, however, he adds, has opened with concrete opportunities to incorporate the typically Italian characteristics of general regulations, particularly those of credit cooperatives. "The aid must be directed at the real economy. We need to manage savings not only so that they generate wealth in themselves, but above all so that they generate new wealth of a general nature, which can only be achieved through lending. The current regulations stifle traditional banking activity, which we, instead, aspire to," he concludes.
