Between the summer of 2023 and April 2024, according to what investigators have reconstructed so far, a 64-year-old man allegedly abused his 8-year-old granddaughter.
During that period, the little girl regularly spent at least one night a week at her paternal grandparents' house. The abuse allegedly occurred at night, while the child slept in her grandparents' bed, but also during the day. According to the reconstruction, it appears the man's behavior did not stop even when his granddaughter expressed explicit opposition , and she repeatedly tried to push her grandfather away and make him stop.
The 64-year-old was therefore brought to trial on charges of aggravated sexual assault , abuse of hospitality, the influence he had over the victim, and the fact that the child was under 10 years old.

Yesterday, Tuesday 3 November 2026, the preliminary hearing judge Antonio De Rosa of the Sondrio Court sentenced the 64-year-old to 6 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault.
As previously stated, the man allegedly abused his 8-year-old granddaughter. Furthermore, the man, whose identity has not been disclosed in order to protect the child, has been permanently banned from holding public office, from any role related to guardianship, curatorship, and support administration, as well as from any role in schools of any level and in public or private facilities primarily attended by minors.
