Mauritius, the renovated Trou aux Biches Beachcomber resort reopens

Mauritius, October 23 (askanews) – A four-month renovation has been underway to revitalize a resort that aspires to be a symbol of hospitality in Mauritius. Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is reopening with a new look to celebrate its 55th anniversary. "Among the ideas behind this renovation," Kervyn Rayeroux, the resort's general manager, told askanews, "is the modification of the entrance to the main restaurant, L'Oasis, to create a seamless flow that leads guests to the main bar.

The reason is simple and has to do with the very essence of Mauritius: when you visit the island, you talk about its streets and its food, especially street food. This is precisely the atmosphere we want to recreate: a natural flow that accompanies guests from the entrance of the main restaurant to the bar." The renovation, whose sustainability Beachcomber proudly emphasizes, also included the boutique and several other restaurants, including the Italian restaurant, Il Corallo.

Another major renovation was dedicated to the rooms. "All the suites," the GM added, "have been renovated; including the beachfront suites, which have been completely redone with new furnishings, decor, a color palette, and air conditioning. These rooms feature private pools and overlook the beach. We've also renovated the other suite types—Tropical, Tropical Plus, and Family—adopting new, brighter, fresher colors, with green tones that recall the resort's natural surroundings, and installing advanced humidity control systems." The Beachcomber model was born out of a close relationship with the Mauritian environment and the local communities, who are involved in resort life, for example through the BeautifulHands craft project.

"We have made 52 sustainability commitments," the director continued, "many of which involve the local community. Unlike other hotels located in remote areas, Trou aux Biches is located right in the heart of the village, a truly unique feature that we take into account in all our initiatives." The intertwining of all these elements, along with the beauty of the beach and the allure of the Indian Ocean, contribute to a renewed offering for travelers. "All these modernization and renovations," concluded Kervyn Rayeroux, "were carried out to elevate the quality of the experience offered to guests at Trou aux Biches." This experience is necessarily amplified today by the quality of services, but also by a profound awareness of the local area and the environment.
