Rome, August 4 (askanews) – During her visit to Ancona, where the government's development initiatives for the Marche region were presented, a region that will go to the polls on September 28 and 29 and where the outgoing governor, Meloni's Francesco Acquaroli (FDI), is running as candidate, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced the expansion of the Special Economic Zone (ZES) to include the Marche and Umbria regions, a measure until now reserved for the southern regions.
"It's the question of the infrastructure deficit because this Region," the Prime Minister said, "is experiencing an incredible paradox: being at the center of our country, at the center of Italy, and yet being a region that is difficult to reach."
The government promises a boost to the region's infrastructure, noting that it began work "right away on projects like the Pedemontana delle Marche, a dream come true," said Meloni, who went with Acquaroli to Cessapalombo to inaugurate the southern section of the project.
