Rome, November 2 – "Over 4 million young people suffer from eating disorders. Addressing these conditions requires a multidisciplinary approach. Our team is made up of professional women, and we're here because we win as a team." This was stated by Donatella Possemato, healthcare entrepreneur and captain of the all-female crew La Mimosa, at the Circolo Ondina sul Tevere, during Roma Breast Days – Rema Roma per la Vita. The event, now in its sixth edition, was conceived and chaired by Professor Giovanni Dal Pra and combines the scientific conference with the rowing regatta to promote prevention and the role of sport in breast cancer rehabilitation.
Mimosa Srl, of which Possemato is the managing director, is committed to managing eating and nutrition disorders with an integrated care model, based on the coordinated work of psychologists, nutritionists, and educators, and designed to be scalable and replicable in other healthcare settings. This day is dedicated to breast cancer prevention and, more generally, women's health.
Sport stimulates the release of endorphins, the so-called happiness hormones. This is why today we row for life, concluded Possemato.
