(Adnkronos) – "Today we are returning the vision of dreaming to 5000 children who shared this work, to a neighborhood like Librino, which is confirming more than ever the need for beauty." These were the words of patron Antonio Presti, founder of Fiumara d'Arte, during the inauguration of the "Gate of Pegasus" in Catania's Librino neighborhood, featuring the statue "Pegasus, the Winged Horse" by artist Antonello Bonanno Conti and the installation of 5000 terracotta tiles, shared with thousands of children from the neighborhood, as part of the Triennale della Contemporaneità, promoted by the Sicilian Region in collaboration with the Intesa Sanpaolo bank's charitable fund.
Today's event adds another piece to the journey begun over 30 years ago by Presti in Librino. "This is the nourishment of beauty; a winged horse is the dream of dreaming," adds the patron. "The children have decided to take the carriage away from their horse and give wings to the dream of dreaming."
Here, the children of Librino, through this education, this artistic process, are saying: <>. And this winged horse certainly has the evocative, dreamlike power to embrace the entire Librino community with its heart and its dreamlike vision."
