"Milan is a city that has made significant contributions to oncology research. Bringing this ESMO event back in 2028," after 18 years, "is a recognition of the Milanese research ecosystem's global commitment. Furthermore, it is an important event that will raise the profile of the city and the region, and will attract approximately 43 people from around the world."
These were the words of Giuseppe Curigliano, president-elect of ESMO – the European Society of Medical Oncology and full professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Milan, speaking at the meeting 'Towards ESMO 2028', during which ESMO formalized the choice of the Lombardy capital as the venue for the Congress scheduled for two years from now.
