(Adnkronos) – "Preventing prematurity is the best thing to do. We need adequate obstetric care, in centers that know how to manage these situations. We have many in Italy, but we must try to reduce the number of cases." These were the words of Massimo Agosti, president of the Italian Society of Neonatology (SIN), during the presentation of "Vite in Campo," the documentary film written and directed by Donatella Romani and Roberto Amato and produced by Telomero Produzioni with the unconditional contribution of Chiesi Italia.
The work was presented at the Rome Film Festival. Among the documentary's stories is the premature birth of a daughter.
"We need to reduce inequalities, the fact that not all regions have the same opportunities," Agosti continued. "We, as the Italian Society of Neonatology, are deeply committed to ensuring equity in obstetric and neonatal care and reducing inequalities across our peninsula, to offer all newborns the same opportunities, from North to South."
“We want all newborns born in Italy to be able to have a healthy birth,” concluded Agosti.
