(Adnkronos) – An incident destined to spark controversy in Bologna vs. Inter, today's Serie A match, Saturday, October 17. Around the hour mark, Marcus Thuram was booked for simulation after contact with former teammate Matteo Darmian. What happened? The French center forward, starting from outside the box and slightly off to the right, entered the penalty area and fell under pressure from the Rossoblu winger.
Referee Doveri, however, had no doubts and booked him, but the attacker protested and Inter coach Chivu also complained.
The incident was immediately commented on by former referee Luca Marelli on Dazn: "There was contact, it was quite light. The yellow card for simulation was certainly incorrect, but the penalty was correctly not awarded. Doveri's error remains; it wasn't a yellow card."
