Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – An institutional meeting between the President of the Campania Region, Massimiliano Manfredi, and the new Regional Commander of the Guardia di Finanza, General Roberto Manna, who took office last July, was held this morning at the Campania Regional Council. Prior to his appointment in Campania, Manna served as the regional commander of the Guardia di Finanza in Sicily, a position he assumed in July 2024.
The visit, which took place in a climate of fruitful institutional harmony, concluded with the traditional exchange of greetings and President Manfredi's presentation of the official Campania Region pennant. At the heart of the meeting was the shared desire to consolidate and revitalize the partnership between Campania's main legislative body and the Guardia di Finanza (Fiamme Gialle) in the areas of control, prevention, and combating illegal activities.
"We want to continue the excellent collaborative work already done in these first nine months of our mandate with the Guardia di Finanza," Manfredi declared. "Due to the nature of the Regional Council, where fundamental acts and laws are passed, this relationship is physiological and strategic.
The primary objective is to continually raise the bar on legality, transparency, and prevention to prevent future critical issues. Since our inauguration, we have set ourselves the goal of restoring the Council's full centrality in public life and making it a transparent institution. This process requires constant dialogue and exchange with the Guardia di Finanza and other law enforcement agencies, always fully respecting the autonomy of their respective roles and in the exclusive interest of the citizens of Campania.
Manfredi's words were echoed by those of General Manna: "I am here to renew, consolidate, and strengthen institutional collaboration, which is now more necessary than ever to synergistically advance the social and economic fabric of this region.
As police forces, we firmly believe in economic and financial legality, a prerequisite for any development activity. This message must be reaffirmed in every context, starting with schools, ensuring maximum cooperation with the judicial authorities and all local institutions.
