(Adnkronos) – "I hope he forgives us for stripping him of his privacy and that he's proud of what we're doing." So said Carolina Orlandi, David Rossi's stepdaughter, who was appearing in a television studio for the first time alongside her mother, Antonella Tognazzi, in an interview with Silvia Toffanin on Verissimo, airing Sunday, November 1st, at 3:45 PM on Canale 5.

Thirteen years after the death of Monte dei Paschi di Siena's former communications director on March 6, 2013, and after the case was closed twice as a suicide, the Florence District Anti-Mafia Directorate has reopened the homicide investigation.

Regarding the work of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry, Carolina states: “We are not ruling out any avenues.

The Commission deserved credit for scientifically proving that David's was murder. However, he added, "we also believe the judiciary should intervene, and it's been in the news these days that this has finally happened: a murder investigation has been opened."

On the possibility that Rossi could have been saved, Carolina says: “He was alive for 22 minutes.

From the CCTV footage we know today that he could have been saved." And he adds: "His body spoke from the beginning, even when no one wanted to listen, because David fell on his back; yet, he has a series of wounds on his face, groin, and forearms. He was beaten before he died."

Finally, his wife Antonella expresses her wish that, in addition to the truth about her husband's death, his memory be respected: "I hope there is honesty at least in the memory, because many people who I considered his friends, unfortunately, got in the way a little, and this hurt me."
