Corrado Formigli apologizes. The journalist took a step back in the latest episode of 'Piazzapulita', following the criticism that followed last week's episode, which addressed the case of children burned to death in a kibbutz, self-governing Israeli communities, following the Hamas massacre of October 7, 2023.
“I apologize to anyone who was hurt.
I overreacted and perhaps I didn't make myself understood, provoking legitimate reactions from the Jewish community," Formigli said during the last episode broadcast on La7, "even if a UN commission has not established whether children were deliberately burned while still alive, I was wrong to assume it was fake news."
“However, I do not accept the accusations of anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial made by the president of the Jewish community of Milan.
And by those who even compared me to Goebbels. These are shameful statements,” the journalist concluded. “Those burned bodies neither add nor take away anything from the absolute horror of October 7th, and they do nothing to justify the horror that has befallen the Palestinian people since October 8th.”
