Santiago, October 31 (askanews) – In Chile, the ski season would usually end towards the end of October; however, skiers and snowboarders continue to flock to the slopes of Valle Nevado, one of the largest ski resorts in South America. Exceptional snowfall, linked to the El Niño weather phenomenon and a series of winter disturbances that have blanketed the Andes since June, has extended the season well beyond its usual conclusion, attracting numerous tourists.
But these are still effects of the global climate crisis.
