Rimini, November 4 (askanews) – Promoting the circular economy through a dialogue between creativity, technology, and industrial development, proposing concrete solutions for environmental protection and resource regeneration. This was the guiding principle of the Hera Group's presence at Ecomondo, particularly marked by the SCART project and initiatives on material reuse and the ecological and digital transition. In this context, the new collection "I RigenHERAtori" was presented, a series of sculptures made from waste materials by students from the Academies of Fine Arts of Florence, Bari, and Lecce, coordinated by artist Paolo Nicolai. "I RigenHERAtori are a group of ordinary people of various ages, depicted performing normal daily activities.
Specifically, these are preparatory actions to safeguard the environment: this project was specifically designed to disseminate the correct actions that each of us is called upon to take, to ensure that increasingly greater quantities of materials are recovered, rather than ultimately disposed of in facilities such as landfills or waste-to-energy plants,” stated Maurizio Giani, Director of Marketing and Brand Promotion at Herambiente. Ample space was then dedicated to the “FIB3R Call4Innovation,” an initiative promoted to identify and promote the most cutting-edge technological solutions to support the ecological transition.
"For us, innovation is growth; there is no growth without innovation. It is certainly a solution for European industry; there is no other solution of its kind today. Thanks to Call4Innovation, we are discovering new opportunities for the use of our regenerated fiber, which has a quality equivalent to virgin fiber, at a lower cost, and with 75% energy savings," added Orazio Iacono, CEO of the Hera Group. This innovation journey culminated with the official award ceremony for the program's three winning projects. "We awarded the three finalist projects of Hera's first Call4Innovation, held for Herambiente and its company Fiber, with a highly complex innovation challenge: finding new applications for the regenerated fiber material produced by the Fiber plants.
This journey has seen three finalists, the result of a very lengthy selection process, which began with the identification of nearly 100 companies suitable for responding to this challenge,” concluded Palmo Antonio Cavallo, Head of Digital Transition and Data Analytics at the Hera Group. Visitors to the stand included Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and President of the Emilia-Romagna Region Michele de Pascale, for an event that confirmed how the integration of creativity, digital skills, and the industrial system can generate new resources and concrete solutions for the future of the environment.
