(Adnkronos) – Israel is at a standstill after the elections. Netanyahu's bloc stands at 53 seats, after 90% of the votes for the Knesset renewal have been counted. According to the results, Eisenkot's coalition stands at 48 seats and the Arab parties at 19.

Likud has 26 seats, Yashar! 21, the Joint List 12, Yachad 12, the Democrats 8, United Torah Judaism 7, Yisrael Beiteinu 7, Shas 7, Otzma Yehudit 7, Ra'am 7, Religious Zionism, and Zehut 6.

At least 61 seats are needed to achieve a majority. According to the Times of Israel, the final results are expected this afternoon, with official results expected on November 4th.

The outgoing Israeli Prime Minister has meanwhile written in X that he “will not allow” a “dangerous government” to be formed in Israel with Arab parties.

The mainstream Arab media see the Arab parties as the “tipping point” in the Israeli elections, which have become a test of the prime minister’s survival.

For his part, Gadi Eisenkot aims to form a new government in Israel and promises to work for a change of direction after the election. "We are focused on the difficult task entrusted to us: bringing change to Israel and forming a Zionist mobilization government," he wrote on X, thanking the voters who supported his political project.

Eisenkot hailed the results achieved in just a year with his new Yashar party, calling it "a valid alternative government, responsible and worthy of the institutions." In his message, he also attacked Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which, in his view, no longer enjoys the "trust" of Israelis and is "at its lowest point" in 20 years.
