Adnkronos It's one of those images that speaks volumes: students clinging to the window frames of the National Academy of Sciences, black smoke billowing behind them. It happened yesterday in broad daylight, during working hours, in an area of central Kiev previously untouched by Russian raids, near government buildings and the Opera House.
A jet drone struck the building, setting the top floors ablaze and forcing those inside to escape through windows to avoid being trapped. It was a fiery day and a night, the one just passed, marked by massive Russian attacks on Kiev and several Ukrainian cities.
Meanwhile, media attention is focused on a letter sent by Moscow to NATO in which it assures that it will defend the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad to the bitter end, even using the entire arsenal of weapons at its disposal.
A NATO spokesperson also responded to the Russian letter.
Finally, while the Russian news agency Tass reports that Russia and the United States have held a series of meetings in Washington to discuss Russian-American economic cooperation, the Kremlin has issued yet another statement regarding possible negotiations to end the conflict.
