Poleman Jorge Martin won the Sprint race at the Austrian MotoGP Grand Prix. The Spanish rider capitalized on Pedro Acosta's crash into the gravel with three laps to go, when he was firmly in the lead. Martin capitalized, leaving Marc Márquez and Marco Bezzecchi behind, who finished on the podium.
It's Martin's 20th Sprint race win, his fourth this year.
Martin won the Spielberg Sprint after taking pole position for tomorrow's long race. The Spaniard, starting first, mounted a remarkable comeback after finishing seventh. Ogura finished just outside the podium in fourth, followed by Alex Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, who finished sixth on the other factory Ducati.
The Spaniard from Aprilia is the new leader of the World Championship with 286 points, 3 points ahead of Marc Marquez and 38 points ahead of Bezzecchi.
Fabio Di Giannantonio finished tenth. The race is Sunday at 14 p.m.
