First Lady Melania Trump confirmed the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in Oleshky, which US President Donald Trump had emphasized in recent days was achieved thanks to his wife's mediation.
He did so with a short official post published on his social media channels.
The timing was brought forward by two days to ensure the safety of civilians and facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid. The ceasefire area was extended beyond Oleshky, in the Kherson region, to ensure safe passage for humanitarian convoys.

There was no shortage of controversy among users: many called Trump the First Lady of Peace, while others claimed that she did nothing, but that it was the Pope who paved the way for today's ceasefire.
