Hebron, Oct. 23 (askanews) – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Israeli army is preparing a complete closure of the West Bank in response to the attack on a checkpoint near Hebron that killed two soldiers and to launch a large-scale operation, including the displacement of Palestinian residents. In the neighborhood where the two killed attackers came from, "we will evacuate the residents and go from house to house," Netanyahu said in a video in which he appeared wearing a bulletproof vest during a trip to Hebron. "We must act, first of all, to destroy this place, to completely transform it.
"We will do something that has never been done before," he threatened. "The defense minister and I are planning a large-scale operation (in the West Bank), the likes of which have not been seen since the Six-Day War" in 1967, he added.
