(Adnkronos) –
Pension payments have been postponed until November 2026. As stated on the INPS website, pensions are paid on the first banking day of the month. This year, November 1st falls on a Sunday and is a holiday (All Saints' Day).

For this reason, the first banking day for all credit institutions and Poste Italiane has been postponed to Monday the 2nd.

Cash payments are only permitted for total amounts up to €1.000 net.

In the case of individuals entitled to multiple pension and welfare benefits, payment is made with a single payment order.

For pensions subject to personal income tax (IRPEF), multiple tax deductions may be added in November. Regional and municipal surtaxes are added to the final installment of the year. Those who filed a 730 form with INPS as a withholding agent can also receive the second advance installment and the final installment of the debt.

Starting in October, INPS will apply two tax benefits under Law 207/2024: the non-taxable amount, known as the "additional bonus," for incomes up to €20.000 gross per year, and the additional deduction for incomes between €20.000 and €40.000.

INPS applies them every month starting in October, including the November installment. As stated on the Institute's website, "the benefits have been applied to benefits that accompany workers into retirement, such as the Social APE, the early retirement pension, the extraordinary allowances for workers in the banking and insurance sectors, and the allowances provided for by expansion contracts, if subject to ordinary taxation."

Interested parties do not need to submit an application because INPS, as a tax withholding agent, has automatically recognized the benefit, which will be applied every month starting in October. On the pension pay slip, the amounts related to these tax benefits are described with the headings: "Non-taxable amount (so-called additional bonus) – Law 207/2024"; "Additional deduction – Law 207/2024".

For those who prefer or need to withdraw their pension in cash at Poste Italiane branches, the usual system applies based on the initial letter of the surname. This system ensures security and reduces queues at the branches. Please note that anti-money laundering regulations and regulations for public administration prohibit cash withdrawals of net amounts equal to or greater than €1.000. However, pension payments must be differentiated from personal withdrawals: once the pension is credited to a current account, there is no legal limit on cash withdrawals from branches or ATMs (except for internal bank anti-money laundering checks for irregular transactions).

For those who need to withdraw their pension in cash, the schedule is as follows (please check with your local post office):

Monday, November 2, 2026: Surnames from A to B;

Tuesday, November 3, 2026: Surnames from C to D;

Wednesday, November 4, 2026: Surnames from E to K;

Thursday, November 5, 2026: Surnames from L to O;

Friday, November 6, 2026: Surnames from P to R;

Saturday, November 7, 2026 (morning only): Surnames from S to Z.
