Bologna, May 6 (askanews) – "It's always disappointing when someone leaves, but it honestly seems more like a personal choice than a political one. I don't see any recent positions or actions taken by the Democratic Party that have led to a change in its stance compared to the last three or four years." This is what Emilia-Romagna Regional President Michele de Pascale, on the sidelines of the conference on reconstruction, commented on Marianna Madia's departure from the Democratic Party. "When you head towards elections, there's always some landslide, sometimes for easily understandable reasons," de Pascale added.
But I am very convinced that in the next general election the Democratic Party will get many more votes than it did last time, and that in the end the perimeter of the PD will be broader than it was five years ago."
