(Adnkronos) –
The premieres at La Fenice are at risk of being cancelled. Adnkronos has learned that the Venetian theater's workers confirmed today by a majority the strikes called for November 13th, on the occasion of the opening of the opera season with Umberto Giordano's "Fedora," and for November 28th, when the concert conducted by maestro Riccardo Frizza will open the symphony season.
The assembly's decision comes after discussions with the Foundation's management, without reaching an agreement on the workers' demands.
The mobilization stems from a series of critical issues reported by trade unions and the RSU: unsatisfactory industrial relations, problems with work organization, and a failure to valorize the professional skills present in the Theatre.
In recent days, the unions had expressed their willingness to find a shared path to resolve the outstanding issues, calling on management to change course and provide concrete responses. The goal was to prevent strikes and ensure the smooth running of the two inaugural events.
According to what Adnkronos has learned, management presented the RSU with a document containing a series of proposals, which the workers' assembly then rejected, deeming them insufficient to meet the demands.
Superintendent Nicola Colabianchi also sent employees a communication with some clarifications on the contractual issues raised by the workers. (by Paolo Martini)
