(Adnkronos) – A public notice is being issued for the recognition of grants to support cultural activities and projects conceived, promoted, and implemented by young people under 30.

This is the statement published by the First Municipality of Central Rome. The initiative, adopted in implementation of Council Directive No. 41/2026, provides a total of €30.000 for the 2026 financial year. Support may be given to initiatives aimed at promoting contemporary languages, musical and theatrical festivals, art workshops, digital projects, exhibitions, literary events, and historical itineraries, provided they focus on the active citizenship of young people and the socio-cultural development of the area.

The projects must be completed by December 31, 2026.

Each worthy project may be awarded a grant of up to 85% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of €15.000. This grant also includes an exemption from the COSAP (formerly COSAP) tax for any use of public land for non-profit cultural activities.

Legally constituted organizations, with a VAT number and/or tax code, and in compliance with social security, welfare, and insurance obligations, may participate. A specific requirement applies: the proposing entity's governing bodies, or the project team, must consist of at least 70% young people between the ages of 18 and 30.

“With this first call for proposals dedicated to young people under 30, we want to support their creativity and design skills, making them protagonists of our city's cultural life.

"Too often we ask young people to participate in initiatives conceived by others: we want to offer them the tools to imagine and realize their own ideas. The historic center must be a vibrant space, open to experimentation and new languages. Young people are not just our future, they are our present. The institutions' task is to listen to them, trust them, and create concrete opportunities so they can contribute, right now, to the growth of our community," said Giulia Silvia Ghia, Councilor for Culture of Municipio I Roma Centro.

Applications must be submitted exclusively via email to protocollo.municipioroma01@pec.comune.roma.it, with the subject line indicated in the notice, by 12:00 noon on November 21, 2026. Each entity, individually or in association, may submit only one project. Following the administrative review, a management decision will appoint an Evaluation Committee composed of three individuals within the Municipality with expertise in the cultural field. This committee will draw up a ranking of the projects eligible for funding. The ranking will be published on the institutional website of Rome Capital.
