Spain: Sanchez heads for early elections

(Adnkronos) – Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's government and the PSOE are ready for early elections in Spain following the rejection of the housing decrees. According to El Pais, "after a very intense weekend of meetings, speaking with almost the entire party, its ministers, its advisors, and its main partners," the prime minister could announce his decision as early as tomorrow.

Moncloa is also reportedly studying ways to re-approve the housing decrees, having them ratified by the Permanent Deputation of Congress, the constitutional body that guarantees the continuity of parliamentary functions when the chambers are dissolved, expired, or out of ordinary session.
