(Adnkronos) – "They want to set fire to IULM and Bocconi." This is the alarm being spread among university students, worried about what might happen after the clashes and episodes of violence that occurred Saturday and tomorrow in major Italian cities, particularly the devastation that brought central Milan to its knees.
It would appear – according to what is being read on social media – that some groups of protesters are considering “committing violence, sexually assaulting female students and setting fire to universities”, we read on X.
The spread of the messages has now raised concerns among students, some of whom have reportedly stayed home for fear of being caught up in the alleged violence. Screenshots shared on X show forwarded messages, which read: "They want to burn down private universities, talk to the administration about it to filter out the people who enter."
According to reports, the group reportedly wrote, "Let's kill the future rich." According to reports, there are around 400 users in the WhatsApp chats.
It's currently unclear whether the content is credible or whether fake messages are causing alarm among university students. Concern has reportedly prompted some young people to contact the offices of the aforementioned universities to request confirmation.
