Chiara Nava A 33-year-old Swiss motorcyclist, resident in the region, died after being seriously injured in a road accident that occurred on Wednesday, October 7, in the canton of Vaud. The man was riding the Ormonts road toward Le Sépey when, for reasons still unclear, he lost control of his motorcycle. The vehicle fell onto the asphalt and crashed into a guardrail.

The accident occurred around 2:10 PM on the Ormonts road, between Aigle and Le Sépey. According to initial reports, the 33-year-old lost control of his motorcycle for reasons that will need to be determined during the investigation.
The motorcyclist fell to the ground and, after sliding on the asphalt, violently struck the guardrail. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The motorcyclist's condition immediately appeared very serious. Emergency responders who arrived on the scene provided him with first aid, and he was then rushed by helicopter to the Vaudois University Hospital in Lausanne (CHUV).
Despite medical intervention, the injuries sustained in the accident proved fatal.
An investigation has been opened to clarify the causes of the accident.
The 33-year-old died in hospital from the serious injuries sustained in the crash. The victim was a Swiss citizen residing in the region, as confirmed by the cantonal police.
The Vaud Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation to reconstruct the exact events and determine why the motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle.
