Edward Marchesi An Albanian minor resident in the province of Ragusa has been entrusted to a community for minors following a criminal investigation which highlighted the dissemination of jihadist propaganda on social media, as well as material linked to the manufacture of explosives and alleged contacts with terrorist groups.
The order was issued by the Juvenile Court of Catania and implemented by the Ragusa Digos.
The authorities acted on a tip from AISI, which had identified the young woman posting extremist content on TikTok.
Legal procedure and precautionary measure
The court order required the girl to be placed in a protected facility, with the aim of interrupting her radicalization process and ensuring closer monitoring of her online and offline activities.
The decision, motivated by the risk of further acts of self-training and apology for terrorism , responds to a law that allows restrictive measures against minors involved in extremely serious crimes.

The judge specified that the measure is temporary and aimed at protecting both the young woman and the community.
The DIGOS, in collaboration with the Central Directorate of Prevention Police, oversaw the transfer and maintained surveillance throughout the entire procedure, ensuring that the minor was placed in a supervised environment free from contact with individuals who could fuel her extremism.
Investigation and evidence collected
The investigation began following a complaint from the AISI (Italian National Institute of Security), which reported the posting of videos with jihadist themes on TikTok. The Prevention Police identified the user, confirming that the content was attributed to a young woman of Albanian origin living in Ragusa. Subsequently, the DIGOS (Italian Special Operations Unit) also conducted checks at school, noting a change in the girl's social life, with her primarily associating with classmates belonging to the small Islamic group.
AISI reporting and identification
Authorities analyzed the minor's social media profiles, finding ISIS propaganda , references to far-right symbolism, and the production of apparently AI- generated images . This content clearly demonstrated adherence to a violent narrative and an attempt to share hateful material, including anti-Semitic material.
Searches, seizures and contents found
In May, the young woman was searched; her electronic device was seized and analyzed by technical experts. The digital examination revealed:
- Propaganda videos showing summary executions of prisoners and speeches by the Daesh;
- Detailed manuals on self-training and how to make it happen homemade explosives (homemade explosives);
- Exchanges of messages with users who pretended to be members of the Islamic state and with profiles that promoted terrorist actions;
- Footage of the attack that occurred in March at the Leonardo da Vinci Institute in Trescore Balneario (Bergamo), where a French teacher was stabbed in the neck by a thirteen-year-old student, has been shared.
These elements were deemed sufficient to justify the precautionary measure ordered by the judge, given the grave danger represented by the combination of propaganda , apologia and technical knowledge for the manufacture of weapons.
Investigations continue to investigate possible links to international networks and to assess the minor's criminal responsibility. In the meantime, the girl has been taken to a protected facility, where she will be subjected to deradicalization programs and constant monitoring by the competent authorities.
