According to the military's reconstruction, the group targeted the man for trivial reasons, repeatedly attacking him on three separate occasions during the same evening . The incidents occurred in the town center, near the intersection of Piazza Vittorio Veneto and Via Cairoli. The victim suffered physical injuries and severe psychological trauma.
What made the situation even more serious was what happened after the violence: some moments of the attack were filmed on cell phones and subsequently published on the main social media platforms. The dissemination of the images exposed the 33-year-old to a veritable media pillory , worsening the consequences of the incident. Upon completion of the investigation , the Carabinieri reported the six alleged perpetrators to the competent judicial authorities. The documentation relating to the adults was forwarded to the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office, while the Milan Juvenile Prosecutor's Office was notified for the 16-year-old. The charges, of various kinds and in conjunction, include aggravated bodily harm , also related to the victim's impaired defense, aggravated defamation, and unlawful processing of personal data , for the unauthorized recording and distribution of the videos.
