"Today, half of the reports we receive concern access to care," said Anna Lisa Mandorino, secretary general of Cittadinanzattiva, at the Health Journalism Forum currently underway at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples. Waiting times, out-of-pocket expenses, and the depletion of healthcare services are the main concerns cited by residents, who remain largely unaware of community centers, which are often "built or renovated, but not yet open and usable."

Mandorino also emphasized the role of information and health literacy, which must treat "citizens as adults, not as children."
