(Adnkronos) – Meritocrazia Italia presents a proposal to safeguard human capital in the era of Artificial Intelligence, requiring companies with more than 50 employees to maintain a human workforce of at least 60% of the total, limiting the share that can be replaced through technological and AI systems to 40%. The goal, explains Paolo Patrizio, MI Cabinet Chief, is to "restore humanity to the center of progress" and prevent the economic and social imbalances associated with the replacement of human labor.
Job losses, Patrizio emphasizes, don't just affect individual workers, but have cascading consequences for welfare, pensions, consumption, families, and social cohesion. "Entrepreneurs cannot be driven simply by the desire to maximize profits by reducing costs," is the association's position, which calls for a rethinking of the model of society to be built and the role of profit in political and economic decisions.
