As reported by Ansa , the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. , when the boy found himself confronted by a young man armed with a large knife , with a blade approximately 15 centimeters long.
According to investigators' reconstruction, the attacker attempted to strike him; the 15-year-old fought back, attempting to defend himself and, during the struggle, sustained injuries to his hands and arms . His reaction allowed the alleged attacker to flee, who abandoned the weapon inside the school. The Carabinieri, who responded to the scene along with the police, recovered and seized the knife.
The boy was taken to the emergency room at the Arcispedale Sant'Anna in Cona for medical checks and was later discharged. According to a testimony collected by Resto del Carlino , the 15-year-old reportedly said: " I don't know who that boy is, I've never seen him in my life , " thus denying he knew his attacker.
