As reported by Rimini Today , a family tragedy has shocked Verucchio, in the Rimini area, where on Thursday, October 8, Riccardo Gualtieri, just 18 years old, was found lifeless in the house where he lived with his mother. The discovery was made around 7:30 a.m. , when the woman went to wake her son , who was supposed to be getting ready for school.
Not seeing him in bed, she began searching the house until she reached the bathroom door , which was locked from the inside. After forcing it open, she found a dramatic scene: the boy was lying on the floor, showing no signs of life. The mother immediately called 118, but by the time the medical team arrived, there was nothing more they could do for the young man.
The medical staff could only confirm his death.

According to initial reports, Riccardo may have died following a fall during the night. The eighteen-year-old apparently got up to go to the bathroom, where he lost his balance, perhaps due to illness or a slip , and struck his head violently against the bidet. This is considered consistent with the coroner's initial findings, but remains dependent on the investigations conducted after the discovery.
Carabinieri officers from the Villa Verucchio station arrived at the home to reconstruct the circumstances of the tragedy. After the investigation, the body was transferred to the morgue at Rimini's Infermi Hospital and made available to the judicial authorities . It will now be up to the public prosecutor to decide whether to perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death or authorize the return of the body to the family.
