Accident on the ring road: car overturns after braking
The accident occurred around 3:00 PM, leaving the Monza area toward Muggiò and Nova Milanese, already in the municipality of Cinisello Balsamo. According to an initial reconstruction, still being examined by the traffic police, the driver braked extensively before hitting a ditch on the roadway. The vehicle then overturned, spiraling out of control.
Initially, the possibility that other vehicles may have been involved in the accident was also considered. Subsequent investigations, however, seem to rule out this possibility. The exact circumstances, however, remain unclear.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
Traffic police rescue and investigations
The alarm immediately triggered emergency response. Firefighters from the Monza and Brianza command responded to the scene, later joined by firefighters from Sesto San Giovanni. Firefighters worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle , then handed him over to the emergency medical personnel. Two ambulances and a medical car arrived at the scene , but all rescue efforts were unsuccessful: the man died instantly from the impact.
Also present were officers from the Monza traffic police, who were investigating the accident, along with technicians from the Assago ATS.
The investigation is continuing under the coordination of the Monza Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation will determine why the driver lost control of the car and whether the prolonged braking and subsequent rollover were attributable to a specific cause.
