Alessandro Di Battista spent a second night at Rome's Gemelli Hospital. He has been hospitalized at the IRCCS since Saturday, September 12th, continuing his treatment following a sudden illness on August 28th while reporting in Cuba and a critical surgical procedure in Havana. Di Battista arrived at the Gemelli Hospital on Saturday morning, transferred to the hospital by ambulance waiting for him at Ciampino Airport.
“As per the family’s request, no bulletins are expected,” Gemelli Hospital confirmed.
An appeal for privacy was launched on Facebook on Saturday by the Schierarsi association, of which the former Five Star Movement parliamentarian is vice president. "We ask Alessandro Di Battista's friends and supporters, and media workers, not to visit the Gemelli Polyclinic, so as to allow him and his family to live out the next few days in the peace and quiet they deserve.
We also urge everyone to exercise the utmost caution and discretion when sharing photographs, videos, news, and information regarding Alessandro and his personal situation. Any updates will be shared when and where appropriate, always fully respecting Alessandro Di Battista's wishes and in consultation with those close to him, as has been the case so far.
