Jhoanna Nataly Quintanilla Valle, the 40-year-old babysitter killed in Milan, was apparently beaten to death, according to initial autopsy results on the body found Sunday in the Adda River, in the municipality of Zelo Buon Persico, in the Lodi area.
Babysitter killed in Milan: autopsy results
The examination conducted at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pavia revealed signs of violence , numerous bruises and possible suffocation.
No cuts or injuries caused by other weapons were found on the body: the victim was attacked with bare hands. The cause of death could be suffocation, which occurred after a violent beating.
The woman's partner, Pablo Gonzalez Rivas , was arrested on suspicion of murder. Rivas claimed he killed her accidentally during an erotic game, but this version did not convince investigators, and the autopsy results contradicted it.
After the crime, before throwing the body, closed in a gym bag, probably into the Adda where it was found, Gonzalez asked a friend to help him find a garage or cellar to hide it.
Babysitter killed in Milan: the investigation
Quintanilla was reportedly killed on the night of January 24-25, but her disappearance was only noticed three days later.
The report from the cardiologist at Sacco, who had hired her as a babysitter, triggered the investigation on January 28th. Eight days later, Rivas confessed to the murder. Meanwhile, Quintanilla's body had already been placed in a duffel bag, which was found on Sunday.
The Prosecutor's Office hypothesizes that the woman had discovered her partner 's secret relationship and that he wanted to kick her out of the house.
