This was stated by Andrea Cafà, president of Cifa Italia and Fonarcom, at the meeting "Business in the AI Era. Companies, institutions, and experts for responsible innovation," during which UniEticpmi's Artificial Intelligence Observatory was presented today in Milan.
The Observatory was born from the need to bring together "experts and combine their experiences and skills to serve micro, small, and medium-sized businesses," says Cafà. "We need to provide direction and engage in dialogue to help people understand what adopting an artificial intelligence system really means."
He then adds: "Artificial intelligence will be at the heart of major transformations: new ways of working will change the economy and the organization of governments. Consequently, we cannot afford to leave out our micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, which often risk missing out on many opportunities."
In our country, the entrepreneurial fabric to which the president of Cifa Italia refers "represents over 98% of the total" of businesses, he notes.
SMEs "offer employment to more than half of private sector workers and play a fundamental role. Behind large Italian companies," he observes, "there is almost always a supply chain of micro and small businesses, a network with a specific and, I dare say, essential role. This is why we cannot afford to let these businesses fall behind," he concludes.
