It is undoubtedly the most controversial case in the history of Italian crime, perhaps second only to the "Monster of Florence." It is fueled by constant twists and turns, not least of which is the fact that the perpetrator (after three stages of trial) and years spent in prison, appears almost exonerated by new evidence.
Many faces revolve around this case: lawyers, journalists, magistrates, families, twins, police officers. All that's missing is a Poirot to unravel the mystery, made not only of elements but also of silence, oversights, and perhaps cover-ups.
