"A good guy, nominate him," the left is out of control: Youssef Siher is involved.

Mimmo Lucano proposes the candidacy of Youssef Siher, the thirty-year-old Italian-Moroccan under investigation for terrorism, and launches an appeal to Bonelli and Fratoianni.

Youssef Siher 's potential candidacy on the Alliance of the Greens and the Left lists opens a new front of political conflict. Mimmo Lucano supports it , urging Bonelli and Fratoianni to back the thirty-year-old Italian-Moroccan, recently released from prison.

Lucano's appeal to Bonelli and Fratoianni and Licia Ronzulli's attack

A possibility that Licia Ronzulli, a member of Forza Italia, had already raised when criticizing the solidarity expressed towards Siher and hypothesizing his future entry into the radical left's electoral lists.

" Everyone's waving their arms in solidarity with Youssef Siher . But solidarity for what? For having organized a demonstration that served to devastate a city? For having incited hatred and violence ?" the Forza Italia member attacked. She then added: " It's a sin to think badly, but perhaps the radical left has found its new champion to nominate for the next election ."

Lucano's endorsement now seems to give substance to that hypothesis, taking the issue from the realm of provocation to that of possible political candidacies.

Lucano is open to Youssef Siher's candidacy: "He would be a symbol for AVS."

The prospect of Youssef Siher entering institutional politics, after being at the center of controversy over the street demonstrations, would no longer be just a provocation.

Reviving the idea is Mimmo Lucano, MEP for the Alliance of the Greens and the Left and former mayor of Riace, who in an interview with Il Foglio openly expressed his support for the thirty-year-old Italian-Moroccan's possible candidacy. " It would be wonderful if AVS nominated Youssef Siher. He would be a symbol. I would love to have him as a colleague ," he said, addressing party leaders Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni.

Siher, recently released from prison in San Vittore, is under investigation for terrorism and is identified by investigators as the alleged reference figure for the October 17 Movement , the Telegram channel founded after the demonstrations that resulted in devastation in Milan . Lucano, however, rejects the accusations leveled against the young man and disputes the reconstruction of his involvement in the riots: " They are criminalizing him to use him as a scapegoat for the riots. But he has nothing to do with it ."

He then adds words of appreciation: " Siher is a good guy, a scholar, a political scientist. He's half Moroccan and half Italian, he's an enrichment for Italy ." According to the MEP, the thirty-year-old could even stand out in parliamentary debate: " In Parliament, he would make many of my center-right colleagues look bad ."
