(Adnkronos) – The seventh stop of SI.IN.PRE.SA. (Safety, Information, Prevention, Health) was inaugurated this morning on the seafront near the Reggio Calabria Lido station. This traveling project, promoted by INAIL (National Institute for the Prevention of Injuries) to bring services, assistance, and concrete tools to support workplace health and safety directly to the local communities. The Institute's mobile station will remain in Reggio Calabria for two days, offering businesses, workers, and citizens specialist advice, medical-legal examinations, training activities, and awareness-raising initiatives on the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases.

The day opened with INAIL Director General Marcello Fiori, INAIL President Fabrizio D'Ascenzo, who spoke with a video message, and Reggio Calabria Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro.

The project was presented by Tommaso De Nicola, the Central Director of Prevention, Marta Clemente of the INAIL Central Health Superintendency, and Teresa Citraro, the Regional Director of Calabria.

"In Italy, more than 90% of businesses have fewer than 10 employees. It's crucial," Fiori emphasized, "to bridge the gap between institutions and these businesses, which often involve complex processes and a high incidence of accidents and occupational diseases.

That's why, with the SI.IN.PRE.SA project, we're traveling across the country, reaching industrial districts and agricultural consortia to concretely showcase the opportunities the Institute can offer. INAIL aims to support the growth of workplace health and safety by providing incentives, innovative solutions, research findings, as well as best practices and procedures for effectively and modernly managing worker protection.

It is necessary to create a real prevention economy with the active involvement of institutions, businesses and trade unions".

"Promoting workplace safety," said INAIL President Fabrizio D'Ascenzo, "is a shared responsibility that requires the active contribution of everyone: institutions, businesses, workers, and social partners. With the SI.IN.PRE.SA. traveling campaign, INAIL is strengthening its capacity for dialogue and collaboration across the country, providing specialized expertise and concrete solutions to meet the needs of diverse production environments. This project represents a valuable opportunity to jointly build an increasingly widespread and participatory culture of safety, enhancing INAIL's central role as a point of reference and support for those who contribute every day to the country's growth and well-being."

"Two days in Reggio Calabria," explained Teresa Citraro, Regional Director of Calabria, "to offer services and bring INAIL closer to the world of production, businesses, and citizens, and to spark a debate. SI.IN.PRE.SA is a traveling event through which our Institute engages with the local community. We are also pleased with the enthusiasm of the students, so many of whom were present today, because we see in their eyes a future of workplace safety, and the Institute stands alongside these young people to spread the culture of prevention through their language."

In addition to training, there will be demonstrations of BLS resuscitation, defibrillator use, airway clearance techniques, and activities dedicated to correct posture. Special attention will be paid to the risks associated with climate change, outdoor worker safety, digital construction site management, and the prevention of road accidents and commuting injuries. Financial incentives provided by INAIL (National Institute for Insurance against Accidents and Disasters) to support business investments in safety will also be addressed. Some training sessions will also provide credits for RSPP (Health and Safety Officers), ASPP (Health and Safety Managers), and safety trainers.
