(Adnkronos) – "The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has allocated insufficient resources to address the healthcare workers' salary problem. The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) has provided us with machinery, technology, and new facilities, including community homes and hospitals. But all these facilities must be operated by National Health Service professionals.

We acknowledge the €3 billion allocation, but the resources remain insufficient to guarantee the presence of doctors and nurses in healthcare facilities,” said Antonio Magi, president of the Rome Medical Association and secretary of Sumai Assoprof, the day after the 2027 Budget bill was approved by the Council of Ministers.

"We are awaiting the text to propose amendments that we hope will be accepted, as promised by the politicians," he concludes.
