Rome, September 17 (askanews) – "Paparazzi," the first single from "Amateur," Cesare Cremonini's tenth album of original material, out October 23, is out at midnight. This adrenaline-fueled track combines diverse styles to create something extreme yet immediate. Produced like the debut track from an alternative band from a London suburb, "Paparazzi" strikes with its rugged groove, sinuous guitar riff, and international sound.
A clear artistic gesture that places the music being played at the center and chooses rock 'n' roll as an attitude even before a musical reference, to open a new direction in Cremonini's career. Cesare's voice, from the first verse, moves freely, direct and scratchy, accompanied by the clean sound of a completely new band, born from the meeting of musicians from the English alternative scene and some of the most authoritative names on the international scene. In fact, the song was recorded, alongside Cremonini and his core group, composed of producers Alessandro Magnanini and Alessandro De Crescenzo, by some of the most influential contemporary musicians and artists: among them Malcolm Catto on drums, Donny McCaslin on saxophones, and producer and musician Paul Stacey on guitars.
A lineup that helps define Cremonini's new sound, which brings together different musical experiences and backgrounds with the strength of a new songwriting style. "I chose 'Paparazzi' as the first single because it has that rough, adrenaline-filled sound of the early days, it really sounds like the launch single of a band from the suburbs of London.

"I tried to grow along with my music, and in the end, I discovered that the ultimate goal was to enjoy the freedom of making it. This is what I would like to convey with the title 'Amateur': an artistic gesture, as well as an album of songs. 'Paparazzi' is the first track of a larger project and offers a glimpse of one of the directions of Cesare Cremonini's new journey: the freedom to follow one's instincts and propose the music one loves even when it takes one beyond known territory. The same freedom permeates the lyrics, written by Cremonini together with his long-time collaborator Davide Petrella. 'Paparazzi' transforms a present devoid of references and certainties into pure entertainment. At its core is the increasingly uncertain relationship between reality and representation. Alongside Cremonini in 'Amateur' is Sig, the character with the golden skull who visually accompanies the project. A musician and symbolic figure, Sig embodies the return to the sound and attitude of bands and the desire to strip the sound and image of pop, freeing them from the superfluous. The video for 'Paparazzi' will also be available on all digital platforms from tomorrow.
