There appears to be a plot to kill Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. Interior Ministry spokeswoman Karolina Galecka told X, explaining that Polish authorities are on high alert after police received information about a possible assassination attempt against the prime minister and defense minister.
An emergency meeting of Polish security agencies has been called for this morning at the Anti-Terrorism Centre of the Internal Security Agency (ABW).
“Following information received by Polish police regarding a possible assassination attempt on Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski and Coordinating Minister of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak have ordered an investigation into the matter,” Karolina Galecka wrote in X.
Jacek Dobrzynski, spokesman for the coordinator of the Polish secret services, confirmed the emergency measures.
When contacted by the Polish Press Agency, he declined to provide further details about the threat or the security meeting. Polish security services had previously arrested eight people suspected of preparing sabotage operations across the country. The suspects were reportedly conducting reconnaissance at military installations and critical infrastructure, prompting Polish authorities to raise the alarm about growing threats to national security.
