(Adnkronos) – Pope Leo XIV requires no further treatment following surgery to remove a tumor from his right lung. "No further treatment is necessary," stated doctors Luigi Carbone and Stefano Margaritora, the latter the surgeon at Gemelli Hospital who removed the lung adenocarcinoma. The doctors released the results of the histological tests: "Today, the definitive histological tests and molecular biology tests on the material removed during the Holy Father's surgery were reported.
The results confirmed that it was lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized. A subsequent oncological evaluation confirmed that no further therapy was necessary."
